Dragged from her stationary cradle adrift in the void, The SS Mary Rose is once more venturing into the black. Now crewed by drifters and outcasts – those for whom ‘home’ is now the decades-old vessel, the Mary Rose has been cast into a different role of being a Fenris Ranger

In a universe where nothing is set in stone, the ship is thrust far from home in a time when the Federation does not own half of a quadrant and technology only makes space travel comfortable.

Following the Borg/Changeling disruption of Frontier Day and the massacre of tens of thousands of personnel, the Federation has realized that it can no longer maintain its isolationist ideology. Starfleet faces several harsh factors, a reduced fleet and even further reduced rosters. 

To that end, Starfleet reactivated several initiatives that had been locked away in cold storage. One of these is Project EDEN, originally under development by Commodore Geordi LaForge prior to the destruction of the Utopia Plantia Shipyards in 2385 as a means to supplement Wallenburg-class transports and their escort.

Project EDEN was quickly installed aboard the Duderstadt-class USS Valiant, a vessel that was nearly ready to leave drydock at Andoria. A meager crew under the command of Captain Piraa sh’Zamhless was assembled from available personnel in order to launch the testbed and work out the kinks in the field. The timing of this launch would soon prove coincidental as the Federation is about to face yet another catastrophic event…

In recent years, the crew of the Akira-Class USS Black Hawk-B have been forced through the tumbler where rocks become precious gems. This ship and crew now are among the best and the brightest in the Gamma Quadrant. Some have started families, others have found love, and others find solace in the bottom of a bottle. 

The USS Black Hawk is now returning to the unknown, no longer on missions to dig and investigate deep, dark secrets, but to boldly go where no one has gone before. Little do any of them know that what they will soon encounter will be their greatest test of all!
